1. The status site only accepts up to 10 characters for the first name. Any additional characters will trigger an error. Enter your name exactly as you did on the application (if you don't remember, you can review your submitted application at https://admissionservices.rutgers.edu/graduate/returnUserLogin.app). Make sure that you don't exceed the 10 character limit. Spaces count as characters. For example, if you entered 'Rebecca Lynn' as your first name on the application, you should enter 'Rebecca Ly' in the first name field on the status site.

2. You will not be able to check your status without a valid RUID number. Your RUID is a nine digit number in the following format: ###-00-####. If you have not received your RUID, or have misplaced it, you may recover it by logging into your application at https://admissionservices.rutgers.edu/graduate/returnUserLogin.app.

3. In most cases, it will take 24 hours before you can check your application status. In some cases, such as holidays and weekends, it may take longer. For example, if you applied at 9pm on a Saturday night, you may not be able to check your status until the following Tuesday.
